Enterprise Alignment and Change Consulting

"If external ambiguity is the new normal, internal ambiguity is the new enemy," says our colleague, Dr. Elsbeth Johnson, a leading organizational scientist at MIT. Leveraging behavioral science along with our practice-based research (captured in our book Rehumanizing Leadership: Putting Purpose Back into Business), we bring a variety of hands-on approaches to facilitating change in large organizations. With an emphasis on building shared clarity around purpose, values and vision, we have worked with a variety of clients globally in the financial services, bio-pharma, technology, and engineering sectors to help build more cohesive, clear strategic narratives that align culture and behavior to support transformation.

Leadership Development

With the speed of change in today's business context, it is no longer sufficient simply to use developmental experiences to fill knowledge and skill gaps. Leaders today need to learn to learn. We partner with your organization to design, develop and deliver world-class, customized educational experiences aimed at giving your leaders practical tools and methods to help them not only to effectively respond to the ever-increasing complexity of leadership in business today, but also equip them to accelerate their capacity to learn. This means helping leaders confront their default thinking and master the ability to step back and experiment with a wider range of leadership behaviors.

Executive Team Enablement

The scale and complexity of organization-wide challenges have served to make teams - especially senior ones - the "atomic units" of the business. Teams are becoming more enmeshed and are thus under ever-increasing pressure to up their performance game through greater interdependency and collaborative work. We partner with your organization's teams and team leaders to focus on enhancing both individual leadership capabilities to thrive in this pressurized environment as well as collective capacity to drive for shared clarity and alignment. Much of our work with teams, based upon our research and practice, is to provide concrete methods to help teams to build and apply shared purpose, vision and operating principles - all "assets" that are critical to a team's ability to align, focus, prioritize and perform.

Executive Coaching

Leaders today often need an extended pathway to make real change stick. This involves gaining greater comfort with personal behavioral experimentation. Our cadre of world-class executive coaches focus on helping leaders frame their challenges and design personal "experiments", that is, new ways of addressing persistent challenges, debriefing them and then repeating the cycle to gain further mastery. Often short, but disciplined and sequential one-on-one engagements, we have found this method allows for targeted, accelerated learning and success. Often, these experiences are follow-on engagements to a Leadership Development experience and/or an Executive Team Enablement intervention. In addition, we embrace coaching using robust assessment data. We have coaches certified in Hogan Assessments©, the Leadership Versatility Index© and others.
