Michael is the Founder and Managing Director of Broad Vista Partners, a leadership and strategic change consultancy. He teaches, facilitates and advises in the areas of Leadership and Culture, Organizational Networks, Team Collaboration, Organizational Change, Strategy, and Execution. Michael's research focuses on how leaders can most effectively shape, institutionalize, and lead from a shared organizational and team purpose. Based on his work, Michael believes that by engaging people around a purpose, shared meaning, and empathy, leaders can create the foundation for better, more sustainable business results in a complex world.
He spent 18 years at Duke Corporate Education, part of Duke University and the premier global provider of custom leadership-development solutions. He served as global CEO, as well as regional head for Duke CE's Western and European business. Michael continues to serve as part-time faculty for Duke Corporate Education.
Michael has over 30 years of experience in the fields of executive management, strategy, marketing, customer analytics, software development, and organizational learning and development. His corporate experience at The Coca-Cola Company and the Los Angeles Times, coupled with his background in strategy consulting and technology, inspired him to pursue a career in leadership and organizational development. He has led projects all over the world and has taught and facilitated in over 30 countries in a variety of industries, including technology, bio-pharma, consumer products, financial services, retail, and media.
He holds a BA in Economics from UCLA, an MBA in Finance from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business, and an MA in International Studies/French from the Penn's School of Arts and Sciences.
He holds both US and UK citizenship and resides in California.
